Tuesday Tidbits

I have not blogged for a very long time. This does not mean I have been loafing, I am just trying to keep my head above water!

We have a sprinkler system in our three back yards thanks to Stephan and crew, plus they are all on timers! It is oh so nice!

Ray planted an awesome garden that is growing. So much for my claim that our ground is not fertile. From now on I will leave the gardening to him!

Our apricot and peach blossoms all froze, so no fresh apricots or peaches this summer. But yummy cherries at $1/pound at Buy Low.

I had a very nice long chat with Shari and long for the old days of living close together. Come stay a while!

Jessica has been to visit us two weekends in a row, well really to come and go to missionary farewells with Lauren.

I have slept three whole nights snugged up in my comfy bed in my nice trailer in Aspen Hills.

Said trailer slid in the mud, but Ray, being the real man that he is, got it out without a hitch!

A fun ward camp out in the pouring rain. Thanks to Pam and her committee, I think it was the best yet.

Lawns mowed every week. I say it is to get my exercise and it is a good thing as that is the only exercise I am getting!

Getting Lauren ready for her big adventure, shoes, blouses, skirts, shopping, shopping, shopping. Actually, Lauren is doing most of it.

Dropping Lauren off at the bus Tuesday mornings to spend two hours with screaming girls excited to go to camp.

Quiet Sunday afternoons trying to figure out what is going to happen when we go to camp.

Quick visits from Megan so she can see her sister as much as possible before she leaves.

Longer visits from Katie chilling out with us.

And, finally, a video tour of the new house and a chance to actually see Katie, Nathan, and Josie so I can see for myself how they are doing. What fun their new home is. I love the yard, I would even like to mow it!

Are you having a good summer? I am!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Shari - one day late

Yesterday was my sister (-in-law) and good friend's birthday!

She is the daughter of an awesome mom.

She is my husband's oldest younger sister

She is the wife of a handsome dude.

She is the mother of two handsome sons and one beautiful daughter.

She is the grandmother of two gorgeous granddaughters and one darling grandson.

We have been good friends for more than thirty years.

We raised our children together.

And, they ended up good friends.

Shari is my kids' other mother.

For the first year of Lauren's life, we shared her.

Shari held her every minute I did not hold her.

We learned to love tater tots together with Lauren in her car seat on the table.

We took Trevor and Megan to get their immunizations together - twice for the MMRs!

She taught me how to Easter the right way.

She showed me how to be good friends with your mom.

Shari took my kids when they were off track.

She took care of Nathan when he cut off the tip of his thumb.

She told Nathan stories at night so he could go to sleep.

She watched Katie when we flew Nate to Salt Lake, and offered to do it again even though Katie scared her half to death in the middle of the night.

She is one very creative person.

Shari sews and makes quilts-lots of them!

She crochets and makes afghans- lots of them!

She makes jewelry.

Shari can do anything!

Shari is the best!

I love her.

So Smart

This is sunglass girl herself! It was reported that when she was told she did not need her sunglasses as it was raining, that she then asked to wear her "rain"glasses!

I have to vicariously enjoy my beautiful grand-daughter through the visists my girls make.
Katie texted me these picture on her recent trip.
Is not she so Ray? Taking every opportunity to read!
It probably helps that her mom and dad read, too!
Now Megan is enjoying a visit and I am hoping for more text pictures!

Good Mail

I came home from work last week to find this in the mail for me. What fun!
Inside was this beautiful bracelet. Thank you, Sherry!
